Our insurance which is underwritten by Lumley
General Insurance covers FULL replacement value of all
goods after an excess of $100 on any claim.
What
you are covered for: loss and/or damage caused
by fire, lightning, explosion, impact by vehicles or
aircraft, storm, tempest (hail), rainwater, water leakage
and/or overflow of pipes, theft as a result of visible/forcible
entry to your unit and/or premises & accidental
damage.
Note:
Maximum coverage on all of the above $50,000 except
for forcible entry (burglary) in which maximum coverage
is $25,000 & Accidental Damage maximum coverage
$10,000
What
you are not covered for: * storing flammable
items * general wear, tear & mildew,
destruction by a customs agency, tyres, tobacco &
alcohol, vehicle breakdowns, damage
by vermin or insects, war, nuclear damage & floods.

Moving
into storpac storage checklist
TWO
WEEKS PRIOR
- Visit/
telephone storpac and organise the
best unit to suit your needs.
- Assess
which items will be packed and which can be stored as
they are.
- Organise
your packing needs, boxes, tape, marking pens, butchers
paper.
- Start
packing non everyday items room by room.
- Notify
essential services providers of the move and confirm
disconnection dates.
- Set
up a mail redirection service with Australia Post.
- Notify
banks, Medicare, Centrelink, schools of address change.
- Organise
medical & school transfer of records, notify new
address and date of move.
- Consume
all perishable/frozen foods to empty fridge/ freezer.
- Notify
change of address to all concerned, friends, suppliers,
insurance providers
ONE
WEEK PRIOR
- Telephone
storpac and confirm truck/ trailer hire/ removalist.
- Continue
packing room by room and identifying contents of boxes.
- Organise
garage sale/ disposal of unwanted goods, remove broken
appliances.
- Clean
out oven, medicine cabinet, BBQ and empty the gas bottle.
- Start
sending cards to everyone informing them of the change
of address.
- Dispose
of flammables, fuels, paint boxes which are not safe
to be stored.
- Cancel
the newspaper delivery and other location based services.
- Start
organising the boxes for the move to storpac.
- Keep
a box with easy access for children toys/books to help
on move day.
- If
using a removalist double check the booking and conditions.
STORING
DAY
- Collect
truck/trailer from storpac as early
as possible.
- Discuss
storage arrangement of boxes 7 other items with the
removalist (if using)
- Do
a final walk through the house discussing priorities
of move.
- Set
aside and carry all valuables and important papers and
passports with you.
- Ensure
your children and pets are safe and comfortable during
the move.
- Once
the truck is packed turn off all essential services,
hand over keys.
- Finish
cleaning the house while the removalist unloads the
goods in your storpac space.
- Leave
a note at your old address with your forwarding details
and lock everything.
- Check
that your storage space has a lock and you have the
keys in a secure place.
- Have
a cup of tea/coffee; pat yourself on the back for finishing
the move and rest assured that your goods are safe with
storpac.
