About Us

The owners

We first opened our roller doors in 1986 in Alice Springs. Liz and Colin Davies had built the storage units in response to their own needs and soon via word of mouth had a small business which Liz was keen to grow.

Colin, with his development background, constructed the storage centres and Liz with her team of dedicated staff has marketed and currently oversees the storage centres.

During the plane strike of 1988 word was received that a Self Storage Association was going to be formed in Sydney. Via various means including a surprise trip in a Lear jet Liz (and her baby son) attended the meeting. This began the active involvement in the Association with Liz being voted onto the committee and in 1995 she was elected as President of the Self Storage Association of Australasia.

Over the past 20 years Liz has been on the policy committee, produced various articles in international storage magazines, presented at many conferences and has been a key speaker at an international conference on Self Storage in 2005. She is always looking to inform and help others in the industry improve their standards.

As Self Storage Australia and now storpac they have won several awards culminating in the best development 2006/07 for a storage development (including expansion) for storage in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

The company

having the same owners since the beginning has meant that there is an experienced and knowledgeable team to help. There have been several name and brand changes to keep the company fresh and to incorporate new services offered as well as the desire to move ahead and continually improve.

Always accountable and trustworthy storpac has grown from strength to strength evolving smarter storage solutions, offering more customer choices and personal control and looking at how we can be easier to do business with.

Our local family business has been built on looking after and treating our customers with utmost trust and respect.

The three things we value the most are our team members, our customers and the environment.

We go out of our way to ensure that we look after them.
Team members develop their own rosters and have flexible work practices and great working environment so they want to be at work and be actively and happily engaged with customers.
Customers are treated with respect and any reasonable request is considered and acted upon as soon as practicable.

Our cleaning process and energy requirements utilize environmentally friendly practises to such an extent that the seven major buildings use less power than a domestic household.
Self Storage Australia in Alice Springs is the storage arm of storpac services which have expanded from storage into packaging, and truck and trailer rentals.

At storpac only you hold the key to your unit.

Extended access hours and electronic entry mean you can visit your storage space generally when you want, even on public holidays.

We regularly offer work experience and this year we had four school students come through our program.
